Cluden water walk - Dumfries and Galloway

We have been on part of this walk before, but today we went further than we have ever been before.

We kept walking and walking along the side of the river, then eventually we arrived as this derelict old house,it had been a big house and mum said she was going to 'google it' when she got home.

We turned round when we got to the house, but at the house there was a car park and mum said we will come back soon and go further along the river.

Oh and Craven swam for the first time ever.!!!!

Doach wood - nr Castle Douglas - Dumfries and Galloway

Wow mum said we haven't updated our blog for a while, there are lots of reasons, the weather has been awful, mum has been working on Cravens recall,so we have been going down to the dog park most days, and we have not really been going anywhere new.
But today we went to Doach wood,we went with mums friend and one of her foster dogs called Ozzie.
The weather was not great,it rained all morning, but stopped by the time we went for our walk.

Lincluden Abbey - Dumfries - Dumfries and Galloway

Another wet miserably day, where is summer.
Anyway mum took us to Lincluden Abbey as it has railings all round and mum wanted to concentrate on Craven's recall as he has been naughty lately and only coming back when he wants to.

Castle Loch - Lochmaben - Dumfries and Galloway

Today we went back to a walk that we had only done once before,it was round Castle loch, and in the middle of the walk is an actual castle,it's in ruins though.
But the castle is in woods and away from the roads so mum let us both off the lead when we got there.
We both had a great time running around,I think Craven might have caught the scent of a deer as he started woo hooing.

Carlingwark loch circular - Castle Douglas - Dumfries and Galloway

We met up with mums friend again today, she has 3 dogs but only brought one with her today,Dave.
We set off next to the loch, and the path took us along side it,then it went through some fields and then we walked along the road back to where we started.
It was good,flipping hot though.
When we were nearly back we stopped off at this old disused tennis court where we could all have a run around.

Wardlaw hill fort - nr Caerlaverock - Dumfries and Galloway

Mum's a funny one,she has lived here for 10 years and walked all round this area and yet today she found a new walk that she didn't even know was there.!
It was quite good,we walked along a farm track and then we went through a gate and along an overgrown path and then over a step stile and we were in this big wood, mum let us off and we had a real good run around.
Apparently it was an old fort from years and years ago, unfortunately it was a miserable day,but on a good day you would be able to see for miles right across to Cumbria,Skiddaw is only 27 miles away as the crow flies and on a clear day you should be able to see it.
