River Nith walk - Closeburn - Dumfries and Galloway

We were here earlier this week but today we went under the bridge and along the path by the river.

There were some woods next to the path and Craven kept looking at them,but mum kept us both on our longlines today.

It was a lovely walk and it was still sunny,although a little bit cooler than it has been.

River Annan - Annan - Dumfries and Galloway

Another lovely day and another new walk,today we went on a walk along the river Annan from Annan to Brydekirk and then back along the river but on the other side.
When mum realised that it was a secure walk she let us off the lead.!
And we both behaved very well for most of the time,there was a moment when Craven got the sniff of a deer and refused to do what mum asked him to,
But apart from that we had a great time,mum even took sandwiches with her so we shared them along the way.

Tornat wood - Palnackie - Dumfries and Galloway

Oops I don't think mum is very pleased with us two,you see mum found this great new wood and she was really pleased with herself as it had fences and walls all round,and she didn't think we would be able to get out.!!

She obviously doesn't know us well enough.

Also mum thought that there wouldn't be deer in there,she was wrong there too.

So we set her a little task,to see if she could track us.! I must admit she is pretty good and found us fairly quickly.

Torr Point - Auchencairn - Dumfries and Galloway

Another new walk today,it started off a bit boring,along a farm track,but mum said it would get better,and it did,we then went through some woods which was great.

Then we came over a hill and the views were great,so mum said we were to busy sniffing,but when we did look up we could see the sea.

We went down the hill and the mum let us off.!!! and we shot straight into the gorse bushes,mum was mad coz she never got a photo of us.

But at the other side of the gorse bushes was the sea,and lots of rocks for me to play on,Craven didn't play on them he went and played in the woods behind.

Mennock Pass - Dumfries and Galloway

Another new walk.!!
We drove for what seemed like ages,but mum said it was only 25 miles and we ended up in a place that had huge mountains at the side,mum said it was called a pass.

We didn't really care what it was called as there were big woolly jumpers on legs everywhere we looked.Craven got a little bit excited at them and started his woo woo's and that made the woolly jumpers run away,which was fun until mum said he wasn't allowed to do that anymore,spoilsport.!

Another new walk for us today.The sun was shining,and it was quite warm.
The walk was a good one and quite long,we walked next to the river on a path and when we got hot or thirsty we went for a paddle,at one point mum thought Craven was going to swim as he went right in up to his chest,but he didn't he just paddled,like me.
It was a great walk with lots to investigate and sniff.
But it was one of those walks,linear mum calls them that you have to come back the same way,but we still had fun coming back though,when mum eventually persuaded us we had to go back.

We were out for over 3 hours.

Eastriggs - Dumfries and galloway

Another surprise today,we went to this place that had lots of dogs and mum said they were doing agility,seemed strange to us all these dogs were running round this course jumping over things,running along things and even going through things,and they didn't even get any food at the end of it.
But the reason we went was to meet some new friends,Trailhounds,they had come all the way from Cumbria,and Woody did this agility thing.
Mum says we can meet up with Woody again and go a walk in the fells with him.

Had a great day today we met up with 17 other dogs on a group walk.

The Hills - Dumfries

Mum put us on our long longlines today,we don't normally have those on when we go in woods,but we only got tangled up a few times.
It was a bit cooler today than it has been and a bit overcast which is a shame coz there are usually some great views from this walk,but not today.
We sometimes see red squirrels here too,but we didn't see any of those,that's probably because Craven kept howling.!

Southerness beach - Dumfries and Galloway

What a great day,on the way to the beach mum went to someones house and they came with us and brought their 2 dogs,one was called Dixie,she liked to chase balls and the other one was called Xiva,she liked to chase Dixie.
We all had a great time,mum let us off our leads the whole time!!
I played with Dixie and Xiva quite a bit,but occasionally I went off exploring with Flint.
Flint didn't play with the new dogs,he was just sniffing and running.
I kept nicking Dixie's balls and running off with them,but she was really clever and she found them wherever I dropped them,although I think there is still one out there she never found.!

Nunholm to Dalscone - Dumfries

We went to Nunholm where we go quite often,but when we got out of the car mum took us off a different way,Craven has told me about this walk,but I had never been on it before.
We went along the river,across some fields and back to the river,but then the path just stopped,mum said that the river must have washed the path away over the winter.
So we had to go back the same way,but we still had fun.

Heathhall forest - Dumfries

Wow mum has got us a new car,it's huge,she said it is so we can stay in the boot bit,but sneaky Craven ended up on the back seats!,so mum said she is going to buy a dog guard to stop him,he's not gonna like that.
Anyway we went to the forest today,and the men had been busy since we were last there and they have built us a new path to walk on.
We met a few dogs today but none of them really wanted to speak to us,it could have had something to do with Cravens howling.

Ken-dee marshes and Mossdale - Dumfries and Galloway

We let mum have a lie in this morning,so we didn't set off in the car until 11am,and then mum stopped off at KFC as she said she was hungry,pah and she didn't even give us any chicken.!!
We then seemed to travel for ages in the car until we got to a car park,mum said it was going to be a good walk,but it was just down a farm track,after we had walked for a while mum told us to turn round and we went back the same way.not much of a walk.
But then we travelled some more in the car and stopped again,this time it was a lot better,we had an old railway line,moorland and forest to walk on,but we couldn't do the proper walk all the way as the big tree eating machines were in this forest too and the path was blocked,so we had to walk back along the road,boring.!

Kippford to Rockcliffe - Dumfries and Galloway

We went somewhere new again today,mum is spoiling us.
We went on this coastal path from one village to another,and the second village had a nice beach,we don't normally like beaches but this one was nice as it had lots of smells and seaweed and stuff.
We were going to come back the same way,but mum saw a sign for a forest that would take us back to the car,so we went back that way.
We went into a field,and as we went round a corner there were a load of highland cattle,so mum being a scaredy cat ran back out of the field.!
